Now you have a safe patient handling and mobility program; what’s next?
We believe that on-going collaboration, continuous education and regular evaluation is vital to maintaining and improving your culture of safety. This is particularly important over time, because as we know, turnover happens and new team members come on board. Care providers must continue to perform their tasks as they are trained to do and promote the use of the SPHM program to new personnel. Your Lift Coach and ATLAS manager will conduct monthly site visits to provide enhanced training to those who need it and nurture the growth of unit-based champions to deliver leadership to colleagues at the bedside.
In addition to providing a structured program for your facility, we also believe in on-going assessments to identify issues that fall outside the scope of the four phases. We are committed to regular meetings with your team, the review of data to evaluate success and to identify new barriers to success to be addressed. These facility specific task force meetings with also help determine day-to-day opportunities for program improvement and provide direction for practical solutions.
